Jace, your cuts were sharp on every route today. A sharp cut gets you open. Next, turn upfield faster after the catch. The first few steps gain the most yards. Your flag pulls in space were great. You broke down and stayed square.

Flag Football FAQ

Questions flag football
coaches and parents ask.

Rate specific skills one at a time, on one scale for every player. Rate what holds up at game speed. Then name one strength and one skill to work on next. Repeat it through the season so the ratings show growth. UpLVL tracks 26 flag football skills this way.
UpLVL rates every player in four areas. Technical, such as throwing & decision-making, receiving & route running and ball carrying & evasion. Tactical, such as play recognition, defense and decision-making. Physical, such as speed & acceleration, agility & change of direction and athleticism. Mental, such as attitude, coachability and communication.
Young players start with a few broad skills. Each one splits in two as they improve. Throwing & Decision-Making splits into Throwing Accuracy and Pre-Snap Reads & Anticipation. Defense splits into Flag Pulling & Containment and Coverage.
Start with these drills: Look-Throw Progression (throwing & decision-making), Simple Route and Catch (receiving & route running), Juke Step Walkthrough (ball carrying & evasion), Formation Flashcard Walk-Through (play recognition), Flag Freeze Tag (defense).
