How it works
Develop evasion skills near the sideline where ball carriers have limited space to operate and must evade flag pullers with minimal room.

Your focus
Sideline runs in flag football require a different type of evasion , the carrier cannot simply cut wide and must use tight footwork. Practicing in a constrained corridor builds confidence running near boundaries. Players learn to use the sideline as a tool rather than a threat.
Mark a 3-yard wide corridor along the sideline, 15 yards long, with cones as the inside boundary.
Ball carrier receives a pass or handoff at the near end and must run the full 15 yards inside the corridor.
Two defenders positioned at the 5 and 10 yard marks attempt flag pulls, carrier must evade both while staying in bounds.
Run the full sequence 4 times; carrier scores a point for each defender evaded successfully.
Goal
You've got it when you stay inbounds through the sideline evasion run and keep your flags, both feet in bounds, both flags on.
Helpful cues
- Use the sideline as your ally, force the defender inside
- Quick high-step evasion in tight spaces
- Keep the ball on the inside arm away from defenders
