How it works
Demonstrate elite receiving and route running by executing a complete route combination against multiple coverages in a championship-pressure live scrimmage.

Your focus
Elite receivers in flag football read coverage, select the correct route variation, create separation, and secure contested catches all on the same play. This showcase drill requires all four skills to execute simultaneously under championship pressure. Players who can perform at this level in practice perform at elite levels in actual flag football competitions.
Run a live 5v5 scrimmage; the designated receiver must announce their route adjustment pre-snap based on the coverage they identify.
QB trusts the receiver route call and throws based on the adjusted route.
Coach grades four elements per play: coverage read accuracy, route adjustment appropriateness, separation created, and catch security.
After 8 plays, receiver reviews their grade on each element and identifies the one most impactful improvement.

You're doing it right when you execute routes cleanly against multiple coverage types in the showcase, adjusting to each one.

- Tell the QB where you will be before the snap: route adjustment is the receiver leading
- Read the coverage and the specific defender before every single route
