How it works
Teach young QBs a simple decision-making process by identifying whether the defense is rushing or in coverage before throwing.

Your focus
The most fundamental QB decision-making split is rush vs. coverage , knowing this before the snap simplifies every subsequent decision. Teaching this concept early builds a decision-making framework that scales as players advance. Young QBs who learn to look first, decide second, throw third develop better habits than those who default to pre-snap throws.
Coach sets up two defensive looks: one rusher up front (blitz) or all defenders in coverage.
Before snapping, coach asks: 'Blitz or coverage?', QB must answer correctly to receive the snap.
If blitz is called, QB throws immediately to the first open receiver; if coverage, QB scans and selects.
Run 8 reps alternating looks; celebrate correct identifications regardless of throw outcome.
