Your focus
Championship points are psychologically the highest-pressure moments in volleyball. Teams that practice them regularly develop confidence and decision-making clarity in crunch situations. USA Volleyball IMPACT notes that the team who has practiced winning under pressure wins more often than the more talented team who hasn't.
Set the score to 24-24 (championship point scenario) and begin the rally.
Play out the point with full competitive intensity. The winning team earns a mark on the board.
Reset to 24-24 and repeat immediately, no extended rest.
Track which team converts more championship points over 10 scenarios.
Rotate team compositions so every player experiences both saving and converting championship point.
Goal
Success is executing cleanly when the score is at championship point, same process, same focus, higher pressure.
Helpful cues
- This is the moment you've been preparing for, trust your training
- Play your game, championship point is not the time for new decisions
- Energy goes up at 24-24, not down
