How it works

Maintain upright posture, eyes up, and composed body language within three seconds of any outcome, good or bad.

Your focus

Body language under adversity is a leadership and resilience signal that coaches, teammates, and opponents all read. Slumped shoulders, dropped head, and slow resets communicate more than words. This drill separates body language from outcome , athletes learn to control the signal they send regardless of the result.

1

Coach sets up a drill with outcomes, some will be successful, some won't.

2

After every single outcome, player must return to a tall, eyes-up stance within three seconds.

3

Coach evaluates body language only, not performance quality.

4

Any slouch, head drop, or visible frustration past three seconds is a reset: player returns to start and re-executes.

5

Goal: same body language stance after every outcome, regardless of result.

Goal

Player maintains 'Stay Tall' standard for an entire drill session without a reset.

Helpful cues

  • Your body language is a choice others read before you speak
  • Tall after a miss is harder, that's why it matters more
  • Same stance every time tells teammates you're reliable
