How it works
Maintain positive, forward-facing competitive language throughout an entire drill, zero negative verbal markers.
Your focus
Language shapes experience. Negative self-talk and complaint language don't just reflect bad attitude , they create it by reinforcing the neural patterns behind it. This drill makes language an explicit performance variable: trackable and coachable. Athletes who clean up their verbal output almost always see attitude and effort follow.
Before the drill, set the standard: only forward-facing, competitive language is allowed.
Permitted: 'I want this,' 'Good challenge,' 'Let's go,' 'Next one,' 'I'm adjusting.'
Not permitted: complaints, self-criticism, excuse-making, or passive deflection.
Coach tracks every instance of negative language and reports the count after the drill.
Goal: zero negative verbal markers in one complete drill session.
Goal
