How it works
Execute the final rep of a session at the highest intention and effort level of the entire session.
Your focus
The last rep of a session is often the worst , done on fumes, mentally checked out. But the last rep is also the one that sets the neurological template for the next session. Training the habit of a strong last rep changes the brain's understanding of what ending practice means. Coaches who see this know they're looking at a player who will never sandbag at the end of a game.
Complete a full drill session. On the final rep, announce 'All-In rep' before executing.
Execute with the highest intention, focus, and effort of the entire session.
Coach compares this rep to reps from the first third of the session.
Debrief: what was different about your body, breathing, or focus? What did you have to override?
Goal: coach cannot distinguish this rep from the best rep of the session based on execution quality.
Goal
Coach rates the last rep equal to or higher than the session average on three consecutive sessions.
Helpful cues
- End how you mean to play, not how you feel at the end
- The last rep is a preview of your next session's first rep
- Fatigue is real, competing through it is a choice
