Your focus
One-touch passing at high tempo is the fastest way to play and the hardest to defend. Training it in small spaces forces technical excellence , the ball must be weighted correctly, the body shape must be perfect, and the decision must be made before the ball arrives.
6v3 rondo in a 15x15 yard grid. 1-touch only for possessing team.
If a player takes a second touch, the ball is given to the defending team.
Defenders play normally (no touch limit).
Count consecutive 1-touch passes; team goal is 15 in a row.
Run for 10 minutes; rotate defenders every 3 minutes.
Award the team a bonus challenge if they hit 10 in a row: reduce grid to 12x12.
Goal
It's working when the team keeps possession for 8 consecutive 1-touch passes without breaking rhythm, every touch is smooth enough that nobody has to stop and reset.
Helpful cues
- Decision before contact, you must know where you're passing before you touch it
- Body shape open before ball arrives, no closed-off receptions
- Weight of pass is everything, a bad weight pass forces a second touch
