Your focus
Leadership is learned through doing. Giving every player a structured moment to lead , even briefly , builds the experience of taking responsibility, projecting confidence, and influencing a group. Early leadership experiences normalize the role.
Each session, one player is named Captain for Warm-Up.
Captain chooses and leads one warm-up moving with the ball activity (they must explain it to the group).
Coach stays quiet, captain runs the 5-minute warm-up.
Players ask the captain questions; captain answers.
After the warm-up, teammates give the captain one piece of positive feedback.
Coach adds one coaching point for next time.
Helpful cues
- Speak loudly so everyone can hear you, leaders use their voice
- Show your teammates what you mean, don't just tell them
