Your focus
Confidence in soccer comes partly from performing in front of others. Giving young players a safe, supportive space to show what they can do builds the positive experience of being watched and succeeding , which transfers directly to match confidence.
Each player practices one skill move of their choice for 3 minutes (step-over, stop-turn, rainbow, etc.).
Players sit in a circle; one at a time, each player stands and demonstrates their move.
Teammates clap after each demonstration regardless of outcome.
Coach highlights one specific positive from each player.
Player takes a bow (normalize confidence in celebration).
End with a chant or team celebration.
Helpful cues
- Pick something you're proud of, it doesn't have to be fancy
- Stand tall when you demonstrate, own it
- Clap for your teammates like you want them to clap for you
