Your focus
Game-speed pressing forces players to combine technical skill with explosive agility under psychological pressure. This drill develops the ability to perform direction changes when fatigued and stressed , closest to real match demands.
Mark a 10x10 yard grid.
One attacker starts in the center with a ball; one defender starts on the grid edge.
On the coach's signal, the defender enters and tries to win the ball within 15 seconds.
The attacker must use feints, cuts, and direction changes to retain possession.
Each round lasts 15 seconds; switch roles after 2 rounds.
Award 1 point for maintaining possession the full 15 seconds.
Goal
Success is escaping clean, the defender commits one direction and you're already gone the other way, finishing the rep in control, not scrambling.
Helpful cues
- Use your body to shield, shoulder between defender and ball
- Change pace, not just direction
- Explode out of your cut, don't drift
