How it works
Practice holding teammates accountable during a scrimmage by delivering real-time, respectful leadership corrections.

Your focus
Elite teams hold each other accountable without relying solely on coaches. Training peer accountability in a structured environment builds the trust and communication culture needed for teams to self-regulate at the highest level.
Designate one team leader per scrimmage period.
The leader's role is to verbally address missed assignments or effort lapses immediately, respectfully but directly.
Rule: the leader can only say what the teammate should do next, not what they did wrong.
Post-scrimmage: team rates the effectiveness of each leader's accountability on a 1-5 scale.
Helpful cues
- Accountability is telling your teammate what they need to hear, not what's easiest to say
- 'Next time' language is forward-looking, 'that was wrong' language is just blame
- The best leaders hold the standard without dropping the relationship
