How it works
Maintain passing accuracy under increasing distraction levels (noise, movement, verbal interference).
What you need
- lacrosse stick
- lacrosse ball
- cones
- speaker
Your focus
Game focus must be maintained despite crowd noise, defender trash talk, and peripheral chaos. Training focus under graduated distraction levels builds the attentional resilience needed at higher levels of play.
Players pass pairs 10 yards apart. Round 1: complete silence.
Round 2: coach plays background noise from a speaker.
Round 3: two non-participating players stand near passers and talk loudly.
Track accuracy in each round. Which round maintained the highest accuracy?
Helpful cues
- Narrow your attention to the target, let everything else go blurry
- Your focus is a choice, not a reaction to the environment
- Notice when you're distracted, that awareness is the beginning of control
