How it works
Carry at near-top speed through a slalom, switching hands between every gate to build ambidextrous control under movement stress.
What you need
- lacrosse stick
- lacrosse ball
- 6 cones
Your focus
Slalom forces a hand switch at every gate , the same read that happens when a defender cuts off your dominant side on an open-field carry.
Set 6 cones in a line, 3 yards apart. Start at the bottom with the ball.
Sprint and cradle through the slalom, switching your cradle hand at each cone.
Focus on low, tight cradle strokes, not big swings, to maintain control at speed.
Walk back; repeat 6 reps. Track how many drops you get per set.
Goal
Success is carrying at near-full speed through the slalom with hand switches at every gate, if you're slowing down to switch, the switch isn't automatic yet.
Helpful cues
- Lean into each turn, don't just steer with the stick
- Switch hand BEFORE the cone, not after
- Accelerate out of each gate, don't coast
