- lacrosse ball
- goal
Your focus
Penalty situations are the highest composure test in lacrosse. Simulating the exactexact environment , team watching, consequences real, pressure maximal , makes game-day performance more predictable.
Two teams of 6 are tied at the end of a scrimmage. Penalty shot shootout determines the winner.
Each team selects 3 shooters. Shooters face the goal one at a time with teammates watching.
Before each shot, the shooter must complete a visible composure routine (breath, stance check, eye to corner).
After each shootout, discuss who showed the best composure and what it looked like.
Goal
Success is taking the same routine, same grip, same breath, same release, on every penalty shot regardless of the scoreboard. Same process, same shot.
Helpful cues
- Slow is smooth, smooth is fast, don't rush the routine before the most important shot
- Make eye contact with the corner of the goal before you move
- Your teammates trust your composure more than your accuracy, show them both
