Composure

How it works
Maintain passing accuracy and composure while teammates create distracting noise around the player.
What you need
- lacrosse stick
- lacrosse ball
- speaker
Your focus
Composure means performing your technical skills regardless of external distraction. Practicing passing in a noisy, disruptive environment desensitizes players to crowd noise and opponent trash talk.
Two players pass 10 yards apart.
Two additional players stand nearby and create distracting noise (clapping, yelling, stomping) while passes are made.
Passers must maintain at least 8 out of 10 accurate passes to their partner.
Rotate every 2 minutes. After the drill, discuss what helped players stay focused.
Goal
It's working when your passing accuracy in the noise box matches your accuracy in the quiet warmup, if the numbers drop by more than one, the composure work isn't done.
Helpful cues
- Lock your focus on your target, not the noise
- Your mechanics don't change because people are loud
- Breathe and narrow your attention like a spotlight
