No-Look Pass Network

Communication & Teamwork

11 minutesintermediateteammental

Legend

  • five players
  • ball
  • no-look pass

How it works

Develop trust and teamwork by making passes based entirely on verbal calls without seeing the receiver.

What you need

  • lacrosse stick
  • lacrosse ball
  • cones

Your focus

Trusting teammates enough to throw based on verbal confirmation builds the deep team bond that elite units possess. This drill also develops peripheral vision and spatial awareness on the field.

1

Five players stand in a circle, 8 yards apart.

2

Ball carrier must call a teammate's name and pass immediately, without looking at them, as long as the teammate calls 'ready' loudly.

3

If the pass arrives accurately, that counts as a point. Complete 20 passes.

4

Debrief: which passes worked and why?

Helpful cues

  • Your voice gives your teammate permission to throw, make it confident
  • Trust the relationship: if you said 'ready,' be ready
  • Peripheral vision, not direct eye contact, is how this works in games

Adjust the challenge

Make it easier

Strip it back

Allow a brief glance before throwing; gradually reduce the look.

UpLVL it

Add the next challenge
