Your focus
Coachability begins with the physical habit of stopping, listening, and implementing. Young players who develop this habit early accelerate their skill development throughout their athletic career.
Players cradle in a set distance square.
Coach gives one specific cue every 20 seconds (e.g., 'lower your elbow,' 'wider stance').
Players must stop and visually acknowledge the coach, then apply the cue immediately.
Coach praises specific players who show visible change in their technique.
Helpful cues
- When the coach talks, your stick hand freezes and your ears open
- You can't get better if you don't use the advice you're given
- A nod doesn't mean you heard it, showing it in your movement does
