Your focus
The 6v3 advantage teaches clearing players to be patient and find the open teammate rather than forcing passes under pressure. Learning to exploit numbers advantages is core to good clearing.
Six defensive/midfield players set up in clearing positions across the defensive half.
Three riders press and try to force turnovers.
Clearing unit must advance the ball across midfield without a turnover.
If riders force a turnover, they get a 2v1 going the other way. Run 8 clearing attempts.
Goal
Success is advancing the ball through the defensive zone and reaching midfield cleanly against the three riders at least 3 out of 5 reps.
Helpful cues
- Six vs. three means someone is always open, find them
- Ball movement beats rider pressure every time
- If pressured, reset behind the goal, never force it across midfield
