How it works
Execute a basic three-player clearing pattern from the defensive end to midfield.
What you need
- lacrosse stick
- lacrosse ball
- cones
- goal
Your focus
The three-player clear is the building block of all team clearing schemes. Players learn spacing, timing, and communication in a structured pattern before facing live riders.
Set up three defensive players: one behind the goal, one on each wing at GLE.
Ball starts with the player behind the goal.
On coach's signal, wings break upfield. Ball carrier passes to the open wing.
Wing carries or passes to midfield. Run 6 reps rotating positions.
Goal
It's working when the ball gets from the goal area to midfield without hitting the ground or going out of bounds, clean exit, every time.
Helpful cues
- Don't break until the ball carrier looks at you
- Pass away from pressure, find the open wing
- Carry ball up the sideline alley, not up the middle
