How it works
Maximize effort and competitive drive through an elimination tournament format that raises stakes with each round.

- flags
- cones
Your focus
Elimination formats create authentic competitive pressure that standard practice cannot replicate. Players with true competitive drive perform better as elimination stakes increase. The format also creates teachable moments connecting effort and character under pressure.
Form two equal teams; run a three-game round-robin flag football tournament with winners advancing.
Losing teams sit out one round before re-entering, and competitive pressure increases as fewer teams remain.
Coaches track effort metrics including hustle plays, pursuit, and communication urgency separately from the score.
Championship game is played to 2 scores or 10 minutes; award competitive drive recognition alongside the championship recognition.
Helpful cues
- Elimination makes you find your competitive drive, it must come out now
- Effort does not drop in elimination, it rises
- Championship effort looks the same on every play, not just the big ones
