Your focus
Red zone confidence is built through positive repetition in exactly the environment where confidence typically drops. Players who have caught 10 red zone passes in practice approach the same situation in a game with a confidence reserve. Starting without defense and adding it progressively ensures the player develops confidence before adding resistance.
Run red zone routes (10 yards or fewer) with no defense, receiver runs and catches 5 consecutive passes.
Add a passive defender who mirrors the route but does not try to pull the flag (5 more reps).
Add a live defender at 75% intensity; receiver must catch 3 of 5 to advance.
Final rep: full intensity one-on-one red zone catch with full flag defense; celebrate the successful catch as a team.
