How it works
Teach young players to listen, repeat, and respond to simple play calls delivered in a huddle.

Your focus
A functioning huddle requires every player to actively listen and confirm understanding before the snap. Young players who learn to repeat a play call back demonstrate active communication rather than passive nodding. This foundation habit makes more complex play execution possible as players advance.
Gather 5 players in a huddle circle; coach calls a simple play by name ('Blue Right, everybody go wide').
Each player must repeat one word of the call back before breaking the huddle.
Players line up and execute the called play; coach confirms each player ran the right assignment.
Rotate the play-caller role so each player practices calling a play to their teammates.
