How it works
Combine a dribble into the shooting circle with a finishing shot to build the full attack-to-finish sequence.
What you need
- field hockey sticks
- field hockey ball

Your focus
Goals in field hockey must come from inside the circle, making circle entry and immediate shooting a critical skill sequence. Practicing the full run-in develops timing, shooting angle awareness, and finishing technique. Players who are comfortable in the circle score more goals.
Balls placed at the top of the circle; players dribble in from 20 yards outside.
Upon entering the circle, take 1-2 touches and shoot.
Alternate angles: center, left, right.
Complete 5 shots from each angle; track accuracy per angle.
Goal
You're there when you dribble into the circle and your shot is on frame, not rushed, not mishit, on target.
Helpful cues
- Slow down slightly before shooting, control before power
- Shoot as early as possible once inside the circle
- Bend your knees to get low over the ball
