Your focus
Shooting drills that allow unlimited time create habits that don't transfer to games. Players must be able to catch, set, and release in under 1.5 seconds to score in modern basketball. Time-pressure shooting circuits force the exact tempo and urgency required in games.
Set 5 spots around the arc. Player must make 1 shot from each spot before the clock hits 60 seconds.
Rebounder passes to player at each spot, player shoots immediately off the catch.
If a miss occurs, player must sprint to the next spot and try, no second attempt from the same spot.
Track success rate (completing 5 makes in 60 seconds) over time. Target: 80%+ success rate.
Goal
You're there when you complete the multi-spot circuit in under 60 seconds while maintaining a 60% make rate, speed and accuracy together, not one or the other.
Helpful cues
- Sprint between spots, time is your enemy
- One-motion catch and shoot, no gathering pause
