Your focus
Games rarely go as planned , calls go against you, injuries happen, strategies fail. Resilient players maintain their performance level despite these unexpected adversities. This drill trains the ability to absorb unexpected challenges and continue competing at a high level , a critical skill for tournament and high-stakes play.
Run a 4v4 scrimmage normally for 2 minutes.
Without warning, introduce adversity: give opposition 3 extra points, remove a player from one team, reverse a made basket, or disallow a specific offensive move for one team.
Play continues for 2 more minutes. Track which team adjusts fastest and competes hardest.
Repeat with different adversities each round. Debrief which adversities caused the most resilience challenges.
Goal
Success is maintaining full competitive performance through all three adversity events, performance doesn't dip when the surprise happens, it holds steady.
