How it works
Build a growth mindset by replacing 'I can't' with 'I can't yet' after every failed attempt.

Your focus
The word 'yet' is the most powerful word in youth sports development. It signals to the brain that current inability is temporary and that improvement is possible with effort. Young players who adopt this mindset persist through difficulty rather than giving up, fundamentally changing their relationship with failure.
During any drill, when a player says 'I can't do this,' coach responds: 'What's missing?'
Player must add the word 'yet' to their statement: 'I can't do this yet.'
Coach provides one specific, actionable step the player can practice to close the gap.
Player attempts the skill again with the adjustment. Celebrate any improvement, no matter how small.
Helpful cues
- Can't without 'yet' is just a story you're telling yourself
- Every skill you have now was something you 'couldn't do yet' once
- 'Yet' means you're on the way, keep going
