Your focus
The 'war drill' format , continuous competitive play with no break , tests the competitive drive required for fourth-quarter basketball. Players who compete hardest when most exhausted are the players who win championships. This drill creates the conditions where true competitive character is revealed.
Two players compete 1v1 full court, continuously. Whoever scores stays on offense; defender goes to offense from that basket.
There are no substitutions and no rest, play continues until coach calls time after 5 minutes.
Coach tracks competitive drive metrics: who keeps sprinting back, who shouts encouragement, who keeps intensity late.
After the drill, team votes on the most competitive player. Coach shares their own evaluation.
Goal
You're there when you're still competing at full speed in the final two minutes, no coast, no conservation mode. War drills are only earned by those who never stop.
Helpful cues
- Tired is not a reason, it's an excuse. Compete anyway.
