How it works
Make rapid sequential decisions in a chaotic scramble scenario to simulate transition offense.

Your focus
Transition offense creates chaotic, rapidly changing decision situations that overwhelm players who can only process one situation at a time. Training serial decision making , one read leading immediately to the next , builds the cognitive speed needed to excel in transition. This is the drill that separates smart players from athletic-only players.
Coach throws ball off the backboard creating a live rebound situation with 3 offensive and 2 defensive players.
Rebounder makes the first decision: push it, outlet pass left, outlet pass right.
Receiving player makes the next decision: continue the break or reset to half-court.
Every decision point is filmed or noted. Review and evaluate each choice after the possession.
Goal
Success is coming out of the scramble with a quality shot attempt, not a desperation throw, but a real shot that your team earned from smart decisions.
Helpful cues
- First look is always the outlet, see the court before you see the basket
- Number advantage? Attack. Numbers equal? Reset.
- Think one pass ahead, not one possession ahead
