Your focus
Resilience is the ability to bounce back from setbacks. Physically sprinting after a miss and returning to shoot trains both the body and mind to respond to adversity with action rather than frustration. This drill builds the automatic bounce-back reflex that resilient competitors display.
Player shoots from elbow. On a miss, player sprints to half-court cone and back before shooting again from the same spot.
On a make, player rotates to the next spot, no sprint required.
Complete 10 total makes to finish the drill. Track how many sprints were needed.
Goal: reduce sprint count in each subsequent session, showing improvement in composure.
Goal
You've got it when you sprint immediately after every miss, no walking, no hanging head. The miss triggers the sprint, and the sprint resets you.
Helpful cues
- Sprint with purpose, the miss is fuel, not a reason to sulk
- Get back to the spot fast, resilient players recover quickly
- The drill ends when you make 10, keep going
