Your focus
The ability to maintain composure and belief when trailing by 10 separates elite teams from average ones. Most teams mentally surrender when deficits feel insurmountable , resilient teams run plays, stay composed, and trust the process. This drill ingrains the mindset and habits needed for real game comebacks.
Set score at 10–0 against the team being trained. Play full space to 15.
Trailing team must score 15 before leading team scores 5 more. Every point is critical.
Coach monitors for any negative body language, arms down, slouching, head hanging, and calls it out immediately.
After drill, debrief: What composure tools did they use? What did resilience look like physically?
Helpful cues
- One possession at a time, don't count to 15, count to 1
- Body language is contagious, choose what you spread
- The game is never over until the buzzer, act accordingly
