Your focus
Cutthroat (3-team rotating) games create team bonding pressure because the team on the court knows a new team is waiting. Tying bonus points to communication metrics teaches players that teamwork is a competitive advantage. This format simulates tournament-style pressure within practice.
Three teams of 3. Two teams play half of the space while one waits. Winning team stays on.
Bonus point awarded per possession where team makes 4+ passes before scoring.
Additional bonus point if team calls out every screen AND every defensive rotation.
First team to 7 points (including bonuses) wins. Losing team rotates out.
Helpful cues
- More passes, more points, trust your teammates
- Call early, move fast, communication is your fastest play
- The team that talks most wins most
