How it works
Establish a structured pre-match mental focus routine using visualization and attentional cues to enter competitive readiness.

- wrestling mat
Your focus
Elite athletes use pre-performance routines to direct attention away from anxiety and toward task-relevant cues. A repeatable protocol creates a conditioned state of competitive focus that can be activated on demand at any tournament. Visualization activates the same neural pathways as physical practice, priming movement patterns without physical cost.
Wrestler finds a quiet space and closes their eyes for 90 seconds of controlled diaphragmatic breathing.
Wrestler mentally visualizes executing their top 2-3 offensive attacks successfully, feeling the movement, not just seeing it.
Wrestler opens eyes and states one specific technical goal for the upcoming match aloud.
Wrestler performs 3 light penetration steps as a physical cue to activate competitive readiness, then steps on the space.
Helpful cues

- Your cue word is your anchor, use it every match
