How it works

Your focus
Emotional reactions to referee calls are one of the most common composure failures in youth wrestling. This drill simulates the psychological trigger so wrestlers can practice their response in a controlled setting. Developing this reset skill prevents momentum loss after a bad call.
Partners wrestle live for 30 seconds.
Coach blows the whistle and announces a fabricated unfavorable call against the working wrestler.
Wrestler has three seconds to acknowledge the call verbally ('Yes coach') and return to neutral stance.
Immediately restart live wrestling, coach scores the quality of the re-engagement.
