How it works
Develop coachability by having wrestlers immediately replay a corrected technique after coaching feedback during drilling.

Your focus
The gap between receiving a correction and successfully applying it reveals the quality of a wrestler's coachability , the smaller the gap, the more effectively they will develop. Formalizing the replay expectation trains athletes to treat corrections as urgent information rather than optional suggestions. This habit accelerates technical development and builds trust between athlete and coach.
Pair wrestlers for a technical drilling session on any taught move.
Coach interrupts periodically to give one specific correction to a wrestler (e.g., 'Drop your penetration knee lower').
Wrestler immediately stops and replays the last rep with the correction applied before continuing.
Coach acknowledges successful corrections and tracks which wrestlers apply feedback fastest over time.
Goal
It's clicking when the corrected rep looks noticeably different from the one before, you heard the cue, you changed it, immediately.
Helpful cues
- Stop, apply, then go again, that's the coachable sequence
- A correction is a gift, treat it like one
- Be curious, not defensive, when you get feedback
