How it works
Maximize wrestling-specific power endurance by executing max-effort scramble movements continuously for 60 seconds.
What you need
- wrestling mat
Your focus
Elite wrestling performance requires sustaining explosive output across all three periods, demanding exceptional power endurance. Sixty-second high-intensity intervals at near-maximum effort overload the phosphocreatine and glycolytic systems simultaneously. Training in this range builds the physical foundation to finish strong when opponents are fading.
Wrestler begins in wrestling stance at mat center.
Cycle through the following at maximum effort: sprawl, pop up, penetration shot right, recover, sprawl, pop up, penetration shot left, recover, sit-out, return to stance.
Repeat the cycle continuously for 60 seconds with no rest.
Rest 60-90 seconds and complete 4-6 total rounds.
Goal
It's real when your scramble movements are still controlled at 50 seconds, quality doesn't have to disappear when you're gassed.
Helpful cues
- Pace is max effort, not comfortable, not survival
- Technique first; speed follows form, not the other way around
- Push through the last 20 seconds, that's where matches are won
