Your focus
Long consistent rallies train both aerobic endurance and shot discipline under fatigue, two qualities that determine outcomes in close matches. Recovery footwork between shots becomes automatic when players must maintain technique over dozens of balls. The competitive counting element adds mental pressure similar to match conditions.
Two players rally cross-court forehand to forehand from behind the baseline, keeping all balls within the singles court.
Partners count aloud together each time the ball crosses the net; the goal is 50 consecutive shots.
If the ball goes out or into the net, restart the count from zero.
After reaching 50, switch to cross-court backhand for another 50-shot attempt, then cool down with slow hitting.
Goal
You're there when you can sustain a 20-shot rally crosscourt with consistent depth, not just keeping it in play, but landing it deep.
