How it works
Complete a high-intensity athletic circuit combining sprinting, jumping, lateral movement, and ball work.
What you need
- cones
- soccer ball
- agility ladder
- resistance bands
Your focus
Elite soccer athleticism involves repeated explosive outputs across multiple movement planes. This circuit trains the complete athletic profile needed for high-level play and builds the conditioning to sustain it for 90 minutes.
Set up a circuit: ladder → 5-yard lateral shuffle → 10-yard sprint → header jump → ball control station.
Player completes ladder (high knees, two feet per rung).
Immediately lateral shuffle 5 yards to a cone.
Sprint 10 yards and receive a thrown ball from a parent or partner.
Jump to head the ball back, land, and perform 5 quick dribbling touches.
Sprint back to start. Rest 90 seconds. Repeat 5 times.
Goal
You've hit the benchmark when you finish the full circuit at the same effort level you started, your last sprint feels as sharp as your first.
Helpful cues
- No deceleration between stations
- Jump off two feet for the header, maximum height
- Controlled aggressive touches at the ball station
