How it works
Mirror a partner's movements in real time to develop reactive coordination and body control.
What you need
- cones
Your focus
Mirroring a partner trains reactive coordination , the ability to read movement and respond instantly without thinking. This transfers to every sport that involves guarding or matching an opponent.
Face a partner 2 yards apart. Mark a center line with a cone.
Partner moves laterally, forward, and backward randomly.
Player mirrors every movement, trying to stay parallel.
20-second rounds. Rest 10 seconds. Do 5 rounds.
Progress: partner adds arm movements to mirror too.
Goal
You've got it when you stay within one step of the partner throughout a full 20-second round without losing position.
Helpful cues
- Stay in an athletic stance, weight forward, knees bent
- Watch the partner's hips, not their feet
- Small quick steps, not big lunges
