How it works
Complete crisp triangle passing sequences while a passive defender applies arm pressure on the passer.
What you need
- lacrosse stick
- lacrosse ball
- cones
Your focus
Passing under even mild defensive pressure forces players to speed up their mechanics and protect the stick. Triangle passing introduces the decision of which side to protect and how to deliver despite interference.
Three players form a triangle 10 yards apart. A fourth player stands next to each passer as a passive defender (arms out, no stick).
Ball moves around the triangle continuously for 90 seconds.
Passer must protect the stick from the passive defender while delivering an accurate pass.
Count how many passes the triangle completes per 90-second round.
Goal
Success is completing 8 consecutive crisp passes in the triangle while the defender applies pressure, the pressure should be visible, the passes shouldn't show it.
Helpful cues
- Step away from the defender before releasing the pass
- Keep your body between the defender and your stick
- Quick release, don't hold the ball when someone's next to you
