How it works
Execute accurate skip passes (cross-field passes) at varying distances to attack weak-side defenders.

- lacrosse stick
- lacrosse ball
Your focus
The skip pass is one of the most effective tools for attacking zone defenses and creating fast-break scoring opportunities. Training the long, accurate skip pass under controlled conditions builds the arm strength and accuracy needed at competitive levels.
Set up three receivers at weak-side positions (far side of the field) at distances of 12, 18, and 25 yards.
Passer at the top of the restraining box delivers skip passes to each receiver sequentially.
Each receiver catches, feeds back, and passer repeats.
Complete 5 rounds to each receiver. Track accuracy percentage.
Goal
You're there when the skip pass finds the weak-side player in stride at least 4 out of 6 reps, distance and angle both need to be right.
Helpful cues
- Throw to the receiver's outside shoulder, make it uncatchable for an intercepting defender
- Drive through the pass, a skip pass needs more arm than a short pass
- Fake one way before the skip, sell the defender on the near-side pass
