- lacrosse ball
Your focus
Cradling with your eyes down is one of the most dangerous habits in lacrosse. This drill forces you to develop the feel for the ball in the stick while keeping your eyes scanning the field.
Place 3 target cones at different distances and angles.
Parent covers one cone (stands in front of it) before the pass.
Player cradles for 3 seconds while scanning.
Parent uncovers, player immediately passes to that cone.
10 reps. Mix which cone is covered. Focus on keeping eyes up while cradling.
Goal
You've got it when you consistently pass to the correct (uncovered) target within 1 second of the parent uncovering it.
Helpful cues
- Eyes on the targets, not the stick, trust your hands
- Cradle for 3 full seconds before looking to pass, patience
- Pass in stride, don't stop to throw
