Your focus
Competitive drive is not just about winning , it is about not stopping when you're losing. Training players to fight back from being beaten multiple times within a single possession builds the competitive identity that makes teams dangerous late in games.
2v2 game to 3 goals. Losing team must always say 'we're not out!' after each opponent goal.
Teams track goals and the time it takes the trailing team to score back.
Any team that stops competing visibly (giving up easy goals, slowing down) earns extra conditioning.
Coach discusses competitive drive afterward: what drove teams to keep fighting?
Goal
Success is winning at least one more possession after getting beaten three in a row, sustained competitive drive means you don't turn it off after a tough stretch.
Helpful cues
- You're never out until the buzzer sounds, treat every goal you give up as a call to action
- Your competitive drive is something you choose, not something that just shows up
- The team that fights hardest for the last goal wins the character competition
