How it works

Compete with a partner to be the first to complete 5 successful wall ball catches.

What you need

  • lacrosse stick
  • lacrosse ball
  • cones
  • wall

Your focus

Competitive drive develops through repeated exposure to structured, achievable competitions. Pairing players in a race to five creates natural drive without high-stakes pressure.

1

Two players stand side by side, each facing their own wall section 5 yards away.

2

On 'go,' both players complete wall ball passes as fast as possible.

3

First player to complete 5 successful catches wins a point.

4

Play to 5 points. Rotate partners between sets.

Goal

You've got it when you're still trying to catch up even when you're behind, not slowing down because you're losing, but fighting to be first.

Helpful cues

  • Compete hard, but cheer for good catches from your partner too
  • Speed and accuracy, a miss doesn't count
  • Winning one point doesn't win the series, compete on every single rep

Adjust the challenge

Make it easier

Strip it back

Use a softer ball; allow the ball to bounce twice before catching.

UpLVL it

Add the next challenge

Alternate hands on every catch; first to 5 correct alternating catches wins.
