How it works
Develop reactive body control and spatial awareness by mirroring a partner's movements while cradling.
What you need
- lacrosse stick
- lacrosse ball
Your focus
Mirroring drills develop proprioceptive awareness and reactive balance , both critical during dodging and defending. Maintaining possession while matching a partner's movements trains the body to multitask under mild unpredictability.
Two players face each other 2 yards apart, both cradling.
One player is the leader and moves in any direction at jogging pace.
The follower mirrors every movement while maintaining their cradle.
Switch roles every 45 seconds for 4 rounds.
Goal
Success is staying within arm's reach of your partner through every direction change without the ball popping out of your stick, control and movement at the same time.
Helpful cues
- Watch your partner's hips, not their stick
- Small quick steps to match their movement
- Your cradle should feel automatic, let it run on autopilot
