How it works

Maintain shooting form and confidence after multiple consecutive misses in a row.

What you need

  • lacrosse stick
  • lacrosse ball
  • goal
  • cones

Your focus

Missing shots in a row is one of the most common resilience challenges in lacrosse. Teaching players to maintain form and attitude during a miss streak prevents the technical breakdown that compounds the problem.

1

Player shoots continuously from five spots around the scoring area.

2

Coach tracks consecutive misses out loud.

3

When a player reaches 3 consecutive misses, coach calls a 'resilience reset': player steps back, takes 3 breaths, says 'next shot counts,' and re-engages.

4

Complete 30 total shots and track how composure affected accuracy.

Helpful cues

  • Three misses means reset, not quit
  • Your mechanics are fine, trust them and let the ball follow
  • The goal doesn't move. Your technique doesn't need to change.

Adjust the challenge

Make it easier

Strip it back

Trigger the reset after 2 consecutive misses.

UpLVL it

Add the next challenge

Add a time pressure element: shots must come within 5 seconds of each other.
