How it works
Build route-running precision on four foundational flag football routes: slant, out, curl, and go.

Your focus
Precision in flag football routes means creating separation through footwork quality, not superior speed. Players who can run crisp versions of the four core routes give their QB reliable targets. Repetition of four routes in one session builds the muscle memory and body awareness needed for consistent route running under defensive pressure.
Set up a 4-station circuit with each station designated for one route (slant, out, curl, go).
Player runs each route three times before moving to the next station; QB throws to each route from a fixed position.
Coach grades the quality of the break on each route (sharp vs. rounded) rather than the catch outcome.
After the full circuit, player runs the route with the lowest break quality three more times.
Goal
You're there when all four routes have a sharp, defined break point, not a gradual curve, a real cut.
Helpful cues
- Sharp break: your foot plants and you change direction in one step
- On the slant: step inside with the inside foot and cut hard
- On the curl: stop your feet first, then turn to the QB

Add the next challenge
Add a defender in trail coverage on each route; receiver must create separation with footwork. No account needed
Build a practice plan
Add drills, keep the plan in this browser, then share a link with your staff or parents. This library helps you find the right drill. Inside UpLVL the right drill finds the player.
After every practice, UpLVL automatically surfaces the drills each player needs to work on most. See it for yourself.
