How it works
Develop advanced play recognition by identifying coverage rotations in the first step of the drop and adjusting the throw target accordingly.

Your focus
Elite defenses in flag football rotate coverage post-snap to invalidate pre-snap reads. QBs and receivers who can recognize post-snap rotations maintain the ability to attack the correct coverage void regardless of what the defense showed pre-snap. Post-snap recognition is the most advanced play recognition skill in flag football.
Defense aligns in one coverage but rotates to a different coverage at the snap on every rep.
QB reads the rotation during the drop (first 1-2 steps) and adjusts the target to the receiver in the coverage void.
Receiver running the route into the coverage void must also recognize the rotation and settle in the open space rather than continuing the original route depth.
Run 10 reps; grade QB recognition speed, target adjustment accuracy, and receiver recognition.
Goal
You've got it when you identify the coverage rotation mid-play and redirect the throw in time, not after it's too late.
Helpful cues
- The rotation happens in your first step, see it immediately
- Your eyes tell you where the void is, not the play card
- When the safety rotates, the opposite deep route is open: see it and throw it
