How it works
Practice immediate resilience recovery after an interception by transitioning the offensive unit into a composed defensive stand.

Your focus
Turnovers are the highest-adversity moments in flag football, requiring the team to instantly switch from attack mode to defensive composure. Teams that transition quickly after turnovers , without residual frustration , are more resilient opponents. Practicing the turnover-to-defense transition builds the specific composure response needed in game situations.
Run a passing play; coach signals a predetermined interception moment.
The moment the interception is caught by the defending group, the offensive unit must immediately sprint to their defensive assignments and call out coverage.
Grade the speed and quality of defensive communication in the first play after the turnover.
Debrief: did frustration from the interception affect defensive assignment quality?
Helpful cues
- The turnover is done, the defense starts NOW
- Sprint to your assignment, that's what resilience looks like
